{study notes}
- Folder boundary — Qapla'! Dedicated folder, not Documents/Downloads. Claude reads, writes, deletes only there. {Workspace} protection.
- Destructive verbs — specific — "Remove section, keep file" not "cut section. " "Add appendix; don't rewrite" not "update file. " Ambiguity = disaster.
- Backup irreplaceable data — Client deliverables, contracts, old work — copy to unreachable location before Cowork starts. Cloud backup or disconnected drive.
- Test on copies first — Scheduled tasks run on copy data first. Once behavior confirmed, point to live folder. Friday automation = Friday test run.
- Read the plan — When Claude lays out task steps, skim it. Right order? Right sources? Unexpected file access = stop task. "Something feels off" is real signal.
- Confirmation prompts — deliberate approval — Stay in "Ask before acting" mode. Read each confirmation. Clicking through wrong action = file lost. Dialog exists because action matters.
- Scope bounds in prompt — "Only 3 most recent files" or "Q3 contracts only" or "Draft only, don't send. " Clear boundaries = clear drift detection.
- Not for regulated workflows — Cowork activity not in audit logs, Compliance API, or exports. Sensitive data, legal docs, public announcements = Claude prepares, you ship.
